Davisville Village got its name from John Davis, who immigrated to Canada from England in 1840. Davis was the community's first postmaster, and helped establish the Davisville Public School. He also owned Davis Pottery, which became the Village's largest employer.
Davisville Village attracts families, young couples and singles who enjoy the many amenities Davisville Village has to offer.

Built mostly in the 1920's and 1930's, Davisville Village real estate offers a pleasant blend of smaller detached, semi-detached houses, and bungalows. West of Mount Pleasant are two- and three-story English cottages and Edwardian-style homes.
East of Mount Pleasant are smaller semi-detached houses and bungalows as well as a few historical homes dating back to the late 1800's. New custom-built homes are being added at a growing pace in this area.  There are a number of newer condominium apartment buildings situated along Eglinton Avenue and on Merton and Balliol Streets.
